VNAV geospatial (Vertical Navigation geospatial) was born in 2019 off the back of Africawide Consulting– a consulting firm with strong ties to the resettlement action plans in Africa - to provide professionally accredited geospatial services throughout Africa.

Headed up by Rory Hickson, the company combines over 35 years of experience in offering professional consulting solutions with a difference. Our slogan – Practical solutions from Africa, for Africa - emphasise our practical approach to finding solutions for complex projects throughout Africa. We believe each project is unique in its own right and strive to innovate when simple solutions are simply not enough for our clients. We pride ourselves in building trust with all our clients through professional services which are uncomplicated and uncompromising.

Rory Hickson

Rory Hickson holds an MSc. (Hydrology) from the University of Natal, South Africa. He has 20 years’ experience in GIS, Airborne Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry, Environmental Impact Assessments, and Hydrological Modelling. Rory is a fully certified drone operator of both fixed wing and quadcopter type drones. Rory has worked extensively across Southern Africa in Swaziland, South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, Angola, Mozambique and Madagascar and is skilled in project and people management.
